I create without being asked by anyone, just absorbed in it.

Just having fun.

That is and always has been my free time.

I feel especially free with my paintings.

My own way, my own world,The place I have come to is "simple is best".

lines and colors that will remain in people's memories at a glance,

Large paintings.

I express my emotions simply: happy, sad, bright, dark, tense, relaxed, and so on.

Black ink that dances and flows in a unique way that cannot be controlled by one's will.

Minimizing lines to the bare minimum, omitting extraneous information to make the work stand out.I named this "black flow".

After drawing a rough sketch on a small piece of paper,

I cut a large copy of the sketch on a piece of cardboard and sprayed it with a can sprayer to create a masking.

This process was named "Cardboard Screen.

This process is also "simple is best," my way of doing things.

My ultimate goal is that my paintings simplify and ease the viewer's mind.

I will continue to paint my art simply with these two words in mind:

"Idea" and "Thank you".

I want to deliver a Japanese origin cuteness born from my pursuit of art.

Daigo is an artist who plays freely with art.

He unique approach and inquisitiveness into the world invites viewers to enter he playful world.

He emphasis on “simple is best” also has a certain “them” quality to it.

The main line, which he calls “black flow,” is drawn as if he were pouring black paint into a bottle. The unique black lines, which are both ambiguous and strong, leave a lasting impression on the viewer at a glance, just as he intends.

The statement he makes in he art activities is “Idea” and “Thank you,

In the process of creating he works, he uses cardboard boxes as silk screens,

He also uses cardboard boxes as silk screens in the process of creating he works, which truly expresses his childlike playfulness.

He says, “I feel the most freedom and gratitude through art.” Daigo has a “love of art” and “a love of life”.

Daigo has a desire to “bring Japanese cuteness born from the pursuit of art.

He works have Japanese “kawaii” for the world.

He was born in Aichi, Japan in 1971.

He father was a graphic designer and illustrator.

He father's simple and cute style of artwork lined the walls and desks...

It was his first contact with art.

Daigo's art style has its roots in he childhood.

He mother started running an art gallery.

He was exposed to a variety of paintings and prints, and from there he began to define the type of art he was drawn to. And he came up with one answer that was uniquely he own.” I believe that art that is simple and uncomplicated has the ability to ease people's minds. ....” Simple is best, then, is what he does best.

Until he was 12 years old, art was he plaything, and he was obsessed with crafts and drawing.

He was beginning to think that he would be an artist in the future.

However, he was forced to live far from art in he school life from junior high school on, in accordance with the school's educational policy. In the midst of this, he became apathetic about art and eventually quit even doodling in his notebooks.

As an adult, he took up motorcycle modification as a hobby.

He was able to revive he forgotten sense of fun and enthusiasm.

Eventually, he opened a store specializing in the manufacture and sale of motorcycle parts.

He showed his unique sense of style by combining motorcycle parts as if he were drawing a picture.

He demonstrated his unique sense of style by combining motorcycle parts as if he were drawing a picture.

Later, he started a family and had four children.

In the time he spent with he children

He developed an intense desire to create his own art and an inquisitiveness for cuteness.

He wanted his artwork to be seen by others,

He entered an art competition that caught he eye.

In 2019, he won the Grand Prix in the Sapporo Recycled Art Competition.

He won the Silver Prize in the Karakuri category of the Toyama International Picture Book Grand Prix Competition.

These two awards have made him even more passionate about the world of art and the challenge of becoming a world-class artist.

From his successful experience in the motorcycle modification business,

He sought his own unique way of expression in contemporary art.

He was inspired by the works of Sengai Ghibon, a Zen monk painter from the Edo period.

He fell in love with the ancient Asian art of sumi-e (ink painting).

The free lines expressed by the free blending of sumi ink on Japanese paper.

He sought for another way to express sumi-e as a contemporary art,

He has arrived at his original technique of “black stream” which he draws as if he were pouring it into a bottle.

He combines cardboard boxes like the parts of a motorcycle and uses them as if they were silk-screened and colored. By incorporating this “cardboard screen,” as he calls it, into his work, he has created his current art style.

Daigo says, “Art is the freedom I seek most.

He desire to pass on to his four children the importance of living a life of pure enjoyment of what they truly love continues to inspire him.

In 2023, he opened Panda Rocket Gallery.

Currently, he is researching how to integrate various traditions handed down in Japan with his artwork.

He has loved “kawaii” since he was a child.

He aims to bring his childhood love of “kawaii” to the audience as a contemporary art form filled with simple ideas,

He creates his works in Aichi, Japan, where he was born and raised.

As a contemporary artist with a childlike curiosity and inquisitive mind

Daigo is active on the world stage.

Born in Aichi, Japan in 1971.

He father's profession was a graphic designer and illustrator.

He father's simple and lovely style of artwork lined the walls and desks...

It was my first contact with art.

An aesthetic for simple finishes and an inquisitive mind for pretty art was nurtured from an early age.

From childhood, his favorite pastime was drawing.

Art was the only thing that was valued in school during my elementary school years.

It was around this time that he began to realize that he was an artist.

When he was 12 years old, his mother started running an art gallery.

He began to see a variety of paintings and prints.

Through these experiences, he strongly realized that what he liked the most was

simple art.

She came to believe that simple, uncomplicated art has the ability to ease people's minds.

From junior high school on, I was forced to live a life far removed from art, which prohibits the expression of one's individuality.

He became apathetic about art and eventually quit painting.

As an adult, he began modifying motorcycles as a hobby.

Then, an idea came to him,

The same sense of freedom that I had when I was drawing as a child came back to me.

From childhood, he had always wanted to do what he liked to the fullest, and this trait led him to start a motorcycle parts manufacturing and sales business.

Finally, he started a business of manufacturing and selling motorcycle parts.

In 1995, he opened Panda Motorcycle Co.

He led his business to success with his unique sense of style and free ideas, just like painting a picture.

He later started a family and was blessed with four children.

He read picture books to his children,As she read to her children and saw their free creations.

She developed an inquiring mind for cuteness and an intense desire to create her own art.

She wanted to create artwork that would be seen by others,

I entered an art competition that caught my attention.

In 2019, he won the Grand Prix in the Sapporo Recycled Art Competition.

He won the Silver Prize in the Karakuri category at the Toyama International Picture Book Grand Prix Competition.

These two awards further fueled his fascination with the world of art, and he began the challenge of becoming active in the world of art.

I was searching for my own unique way of expression in contemporary art.

Then he met Gibon Sengai, known for his Zen-like ink paintings.

He was impressed by the works of Gibon Sengai, a Zen monk painter from the Edo period, known for his Zen-like ink paintings.

There was a familiarity, simplicity, and cuteness that I liked.

I tried my hand at sumi-e painting.

I fell in love with sumi ink. It is silky yet powerful.

The free lines expressed by the ink flowing freely on the Japanese paper.

I was searching for another way to express sumi-e as a contemporary art, and I came up with my own unique technique.

He named this technique "Black Flow", which is a technique of pouring sumi ink into a bottle without using a brush.

He also came up with a technique for cutting and spraying cardboard, which he named "Cardboard Screen.

By combining both techniques, he established his current style.

Free ideas, free techniques, and one-of-a-kind individuality.
